2025 Sneak Preview!

Happy Belated New Year Everyone! (from Joe Davis, CEO)

To start off the new year, I wanted to take a minute to share with all of you what we at GotBaseBallCards have in store for 2025. We like being known for our transparency, so here's a sneak peek at some exciting things we have coming up for you!

SERVICE - First things first. Before I dig into these other areas, there is one overriding principle that we as a company strive to apply to all of the following areas, which is leading our industry in the quality of service we provide. As I told our team at our end of year Christmas party, there are now a few stores larger than ours (we only have just under 11,000 square feet), a few that get more headlines, but none that provide better service than our team does. We will continue to push the envelope in this area above all in the new year.

RETAIL STORE - After spending a week in retail during the holiday season while our retail manager Jeff Speegle was gone to Disney with his family, I was astounded at how many new faces I saw, how many card submissions were being dropped off, how many consignment cards were being dropped off, and how many products we were selling out of in our retail store.

Basically, I was thrilled to spend a few hours each day in the retail store (which rarely happens due to my other responsibilities) and just witness the growth of the traffic from collectors across the Southeast (and beyond) who come to visit with us. I like to say that we are proud to be "Atlanta's Local Card Shop" for over 33 years now and thankful for many clients who have shopped with us ever since our first tiny little shop when we were located in Avondale Estates starting in 1991.
The focus on our retail will definitely be an area we will be "leaning in" to heavily in 2025. Last year we spent around $40K on new showcases, new flooring, and other improvements to our retail store, and this year we will be focused more in expanded product selection, expanded retail hours, and expanded events in the store.

Speaking of....

Friday January 17th - our first "Trade Night/Grade Night" of the year from 5-8 pm where collectors can get 5 cards pre-screened for FREE, buy and sell with collectors from across the state, get free packs, and have dinner on us!

Saturday February 22 - our first "Topps Rip Night" of the year - more details to come, but get ready for a wild night at the shop!

Expanded Store Hours - Here we GROW again! Beginning Monday, January 20th, our new retail hours will be Monday-Saturday 10-6 pm. That's right, we will now be here for you 6 days a week until 6 pm!

Expanded TCG & Non-Sports Product Selection - If you have not been in lately, you have not seen the huge growth of our Pokemon and Disney Lorcana section. We are now stocking numerous different booster boxes, ETBs, gift sets, and more.
In addtion, we are also packing out a wide variety of boosters so that collectors on a limited budget can try to "catch 'em all" as well.

You will also soon see growth of our other non-sports offerings as Fanatics now has the Marvel/Disney license here in the US and we expect many great products coming out from them this year.

Grading & Authentication Services- We have now been offering PSA & SGC grading services since 1998, as long or longer than any existing shop in the country (to my knowledge). We've also been working with BGS on grading and authentication since they launched their company over 20+ years ago. However, it's not about how long we've offered such services, it's about the level of service we provide. No one in the industry offers a more personized approach to serving collectors with their collections. You see, most of our team comes from a collecting background so we understand how passionate collectors are about their cards and memorabilia. We strive to handle your prized items with the same care we handle our own. No one offers a better prescreening service which saves collectors tens of thousands of dollars annually. Our head of grading Doug Giles has been a customer of ours dating back to 1991 and is a life long collector with decade of experience.

Speaking of that, no team in the industry has more experience. We've handled over 400,000 submitted cards in the last 4 years alone and work with over 6500 submitters worldwide and countless shops who trust us to handle cards for their customers as well. For those who already work with us, you don't need a sales pitch. Our record and our history in the graded industry speaks for itself. This year we will continue to provide the best service in the industry for collectors when it comes to authentication and grading. Again, we work with PSA, SGC, BGS, CGC, BAS (for autographs) and CGC (comics and magazines). When you call or email us, you can expect outstanding service from Tyler Flood, Jim Hodges, Henry Rose, JP Zinn and the rest of our grading team.

And speaking of grading...

February (Date TBD) - We will have an authenticator from Beckett on site for in-store authentication. Follow us on social for updates.

Consignment Services - In 2024, we saw record growth in the number of consignors that work with us. If you visit our ebay store (seller gotbaseballcards), you will see a huge variety of vintage and modern graded singles at all price points and many of those belong to our consignors. We have now added long-time collector/dealer and vintage expert Cleve Bosher to be our "on-site" consignment manager to meet with clients in the store and be the hands-on product manager for consignment items while Taylor Pruitt will continue to oversee the entire program and be the "online" consignment manager, handling all the ebay listings and email communications with our consignors.

We were proud to set many records on card sales this year including the highest eBay sale of a Jordan BGS 9.5 rookie card at $45,000 to close out the year.

WhatNot - Back in 2022, we joined WhatNot and had a blast for a few months. Then we basically took off for about 2 years. Well we are back like never before. We now have a full-time WhatNot manager (Jared Hamby) as well as many others who assist so that we can provide live selling to you 5-8 hours a day, 5-6 days per week. We have thematic shows Monday-Friday and new release "rip parties" pop up throughout the week. Since we have the quickest shipping team in the industry, you can expect your breaks to go out the next business day.

On the Road Again - In 2024, we took a very aggressive approach to shows, traveling from coast to coast, meeting with collectors across the country. This year, we have a massive 600 square foot booth at the National in Chicago with 12 team members to assist collectors from around the globe. We will also be exhibiting at both of the "Culture Collision" Atlanta shows (beginning with their first one January 23rd-26th), the 3 "Nashional" 3 day shows in Nashville (first one in February) as well as many of the regional "Flip Trade" shows across the Southeast. We will be taking submissions and consignments on-site at all shows.

The "GotBaseballCards" eBay store - As referenced above, we have an incredible selection of graded singles and memorabilia on our eBay store at all times, but we also currently have over 120,000 individual singles, starting at 99 cents. Just wait as this number grows by leaps and bounds this year as more listings are added and we buy more collections. We have 3500 square feet of our store dedicated to raw singles for our in store and online customers. Ron Lee and Robert Light pull orders around the clock and process new collections we have bought.

Speaking of buying...

Buying - I started the first Saturday of the year off with a phone call from a collector who has been sitting on quantities of unopened cases dating back to the early 1980s from multiple sports.

Stay tuned to to see what products we have in store for you from this incredible find and just know that we will be aggressively buying all year long to continue to bring you an incredible selection both in-store and online!

Instagram, Facebook & Youtube - We now have an expanded Social Media team (Perri Rabbitt, Taylor Pruitt, Mitchell Cain) so that we can provide you with more information, more entertainment, and more product updates than ever before. Some of my goals for our team is to double our followers everywhere in the new year. No problem right? Well you can help us get there. Following us on instagram, whatnot, facebook, youtube, and ebay under "gotbaseballcards". See you there!

Well, hopefully I've given you a small glimpse of what we have coming for you in 2025. After being in hobby as a dealer dating back to 1987, I've never been more excited what the future has in store for us all!
